Obesity is one of the greatest epidemics here in America. Over the last decade there has been a tremendous increase in the number of obese people. The clinical definition of obesity is a condition where a person has excessive body fat of over 25%. The actual number of pounds depends upon gender, height and age. There are many symptoms of obesity which we will go over in a few minutes. Some of the major issues with this health problem are that it can lead to other medical conditions. Many obese people end up with diabetes, cancer, or heart disease.
The symptoms of obesity are hard to miss. They are normally daily health issues that affect the person negatively. The most common symptoms are: Joint pains, lack of breath, always tired, back pain, snoring, hard time sleeping, sweating profusely, and the inability to perform physical activity. Just to reiterate, there are also other health concerns for people who are obese. Besides the ones already listed there is a chance of stroke, skin diseases, and arthritis. On a side note most people who are obese tend to have low self esteem and worth.
If you are wondering what causes obesity, it is not hard to guess. If you couple too much food with an inactive lifestyle you will gain weight. If that continues for a long period of time then you can end up obese. Hopefully this has not happened to you.
